Thanks a lot for your support, we have updated the firmware to the version v1.4.2, you can find it in the upgrade page of Cynus Chess App.
Here are the main changes of the v1.4.2 firmware from the v1.4.0.
1: Optimize the recognition algorithm, increase the recognition accuracy.
2: Optimize the storage area recognition algorithm. Fix the bug that the robot may place a piece on another one.
3: Optimize the board calibration algorithm, fix the bug that one line may be missed caused by the wrong board calibration.
4: Fix the bug in the castling flag, which may cause the internal engine crash.
5: Change the setting of Stockfish, increase the search time for high level, like level 6, level 7 and level 8. The engine perform better at end game now.
6: Add audio “check” if the robot make check after a move.
7: Add support for stalemate. Audio “stalemate” will be played in stalemate.
8: Add error message and audio if there is no queen, bishop, knight or rook for robot’s promotion.
9: Add triple click to the clock button on the chessboard. A “new game” command will be sent our via BLE if a triple click is made.
10: Add command “set illegal move check on/off\n” to the protocol. The illegal move check will be turned off by the command “set illegal move check off\n”.
And new App v1.0.22 is also available now, here are changes:
1: Add language support for French, Spanish, Portuguese and German.
2: Increase the search depth of the engine in the App.
3: Add time increment interface.
4: Add checkmate audio play.
5: Add the support of beta version firmware release.
6: Fix the bug in the debug page that the string may not be displayed fully if the string is too long.
Please upgrade your robot to the latest version firmware by the latest App, And please note that:
1: You can search "Cynus chess" in App store if your smart phone is an Apple phone, or install the Apk file in the link bellow if your smart phone is an Android phone. And make sure to enable the location permission when you open the App at the first time, because the App will use the Bluetooth service of the phone which is based on the location service.

2: Please make sure the battery level is more than 50% before upgrading.
3: There are multiple firmware is kept on the server, please find the latest version to upgrade. The old ones is kept just in case that new bug is introduced in the new firmware.
4: It is going to take about 10 minutes for android phone and 15 minutes for apple phone to upgrade, do NOT abort the process when upgrading. And place the phone close to the robot when upgrading.

Notes
And there are other two things we’d like to let you know.
The first thing is that the robot use visual camera to detect the board, so the light condition affect the recognition result much. Uneven light on the chessboard will cause a high contrast image for the robot, by which some part of the image maybe over exposure and some part maybe too dark, and the details of the chess piece may get lost in these areas, which may cause wrong recognition for the Robot. Because unlike human's eye, the tolerance of the camera is not that good. Bellow are some pictures of uneven light on the chessboard which may cause high contrast image for robot, especially when there is a shadow of the robot on the chessboard, the chess piece in the shadow may be too dark for robot to recognize. Please avoid playing the robot in such kind of situation.
The second thing is that if you place the chess piece at a certain place in front of chess board, which is not too far form and also not too close to the chessboard, the robot may recognize the chess piece is placed in the first row of the chess board, so please do NOT place the chess piece you captured in front of the chess board.
